The precarious state of nature and its relationship to the human psyche is my primary focus as an artist. Our innate attraction to pattern, the human compulsion to create order and the methods we employ to get us there are some of what informs my work. The line between the natural world and that which is man-made is the territory I am excavating.

Through a variety of materials, relationships are established, balancing the precision of the manufactured with the inevitability of human error present in the hand-made. It is within this that the rhythm of the work process becomes evident and the element of time becomes an integral component in the end result.
